Wooden toy cars

Postby bjmxr88 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 8:55 pm

Hi guys,
I thought I would show some toy cars I recently created for my cousin's first birthday.
Made these out of mohagany using my Zen 7x7.
1/8" -2 flute end mill worked very good, and a quick round over on the edges with a router table.
Engraving was done with 30 degree engraving bit.
Used vcarve pro to convert my hand drawings into tool paths and Mach 3 to finally cut everything out.
I am very pleased with the final results.

Those turned out great. Did you flip the cars and do both sides?

Thanks! Yea, I flipped the one in order to get the same features on the other side. I did my best to align properly and it seemed to work okay. Would probably have to use locator pins or something to locate more accurately if it was more critical, but for this application I just drew some lines on the bed.
